Museums in Paris - Reviews - Paris |
by PEACOCK The Rodin Museum which was in the general area of our residence and the Orsay Museum. These sites with the numerous masterpieces were worth the trip to Paris alone, but we were left breathless by the Palace and gardens of Versallies and Saint Chapell as well. Any and al of the cafes we were at were very satisfactory and any stand to get a bagette you could not go wrong with. We were particularity impressed with both the service and the food at a cafe and brassiere on Rue Cler by the name of Cafe du Marche where the salads alone were a meal and the plates were wonderful. We had heard of surely waiters and rude parisians but found nearly everyone so friendly that we eventually approached police, soldiers and waiters standing outside cafes for directions with one waiter taking my wife by the hand and showing her the way personally in such a way it brought laughter from us and a huge smile from him. So much for rude waiters. Three reasons to visit this location is the rich culture and history found in the various museums and mansions or hotels in Paris including paintings to sculptures that are considered masterpieces by one and all, the terrific smells and tastes eminating from the restaurants and bakeries around the city and the ease in getting around by virtue of the metro and bus system. |
