Walking around in Paris - Reviews - Paris |
by STACE Really enjoyed walking around Montmartre, the little streets were very compelling. We also enjoyed walking along the river while the sun was setting, a very beautiful sight. The Palace in Montmartre offers a great view over the city. Also the eiffel tower is worth a visit for the mere size of the thing. I have to admit, I was not overly impressed with the food we ate while visiting, the prices are very expensive in Paris for good food. There was a cafe on Lamarck which served nice cafe food and very delicious cafe creme. There were plenty of restaurants offering fantastic food but you have to be willing to pay the price for it. There is nothing outstandingly funny, but we did meet a few crazy characters during our stay there. We did have one particularly cheeky waiter who managed to keep us smiling all night. As with any city, I would recommend getting the Metro, it's a great place to people watch and you get a sense of the city buzz underground. Paris is a truly charming and beautiful city with plenty to see. The architecture is untouched with plenty of history to soak in. The shopping in Paris is very impressive, I'd say more so than London as the high end brands live closer together and the buildings appear grander. Paris is most definitely a place worth visiting. |
