B&B in Paris - Reviews - Paris

by ROBERT M.

Our B&B was our best experience, absolutely outstanding ! the cultural treasures are amazing; and the people are very nice. We liked the Museum d'orsay and the Rodin Museum best. The impressionist collection of the first was great, and the second was very quiet and manageable--and studying Rodin's great works up close was enlightening, beyond what pictures and small reproductions can do. The Louvre was disappointing--very crowded in July, with no headsets or tours in English available, and the vast collection is underexplained and underorganized.

Les Papilles was the only great one. Just one menu; it's also a retail wine store, so wine was a bargain. The food was phenomenal. We decided on only one outstanding restaurant per city during our trip, and the whole bill for two came to 110 euros. The three-star restaurants are ridiculously overpriced compared to similarly rated ones in e.g. Belgium.

I almost got crushed in the Metro--the doors closed on me and there is no safety device to open them, and the 'open' button was not readily apparent to us tourists.... My wife said my face puffed up beyond recognition. Luckily, another passenger reacted quickly and pried the doors open. Yes, potentially a disaster, but it ended up sort of funny.

Sorry, there's no more to be said.....
