Walking through in Paris - Reviews - Paris

by PAUL W.

I enjoyed walking through and having a picnic in Jardin De Luxembourg which was full of charming students, some great statues and, of course the building. Catacombs were ok, certainly an interesting site but plaques were in very small type and in semi darkness. Me warned there is no step free access and there are many steps. Robert and Louise, Le Marais - very good indeed mostly steaks that are cooked perfectly over an open fire, great atmosphere wine was great too. J'go, Boulevard Haussman - opened my a rugby player this place usually does platters to share although we had a set lunch which was dreamy. The waiter was very helpful with compliamneting wine, even with my lack of french and his minimal english.

We were having breakfast and I poured my girlfriend some coffee and spilt it over the croissants and the pain au chocolat! Some of it also went over the tablecloth! I then offered to help her with the jam and when I passed it over on a teaspoon a big dollop fell off onto the table. I pretended not to notice!

Paris is so beautiful and romantic. Architecturally I would say it is completely unique with it's lack of highrises and famous 19th c design. It can be expensive if you want to eat out three meals a day and sip coffee in fancy coffee houses but you can also go on amazing walks, soaking the city up for free.
