A walk through the gardens of the Palais Royal, the Jardin des Tuileries & the Jardin du Luxembourg in Paris. The best place to see modern art (in Europe?) is the wonderful Centre Pompidou. Don't queue, just get your tickets from the machine. Also worth walking through: Rue Montorgueil, les iles, Canal St. Martin and the more quiet backstreets of Montmartre.
Le Buisson Ardent (metro Jussieu): delicous steak for two and a nice place to be. Not far from the Institut du Monde Arabe, where you can go to the roof terrace (without necessarily visiting the museum) and have tea & patisseries.
Le Temps au Temps: miniscule restaurant in the Rue Paul-Bert. Very nice waiter. Very good food & value for money (3-courses 29 euros).
It was fun going round in the Paris big wheel in the Tuileries (like the London Eye), even though it's expensive for 10 euros for seven minutes. The view from Montmartre over Paris or from the roof terrace of the Institute du Monde Arabe is also very fine, in case there's no wheel. And from the Eiffel Tower, of course.
Rue Montorgueil & Rue Mouffetard for its wonderful delicatessen stores & stalls. Delicious displays of food: cheeses, vegetables, patisseries, bread, chocolates, meats & fish. And no cars (at least nog in the Montorgueil area, which is all pedestrianized) which makes it a very nice walk, not far from the centre.
