Stay in Paris - Reviews - Paris |
by JERROD R. We had a WONDERFUL stay at Rivoli3. All the major monuments (Louvre, Notre Dame, etc). Our favorite was Montmartre and Sacre-Coeur. Probably the biggest "let down" in terms of places we visited was St Chappelle. We thought we would get to see a really nice cathedral-type building, but all it really amounted to was one room, with a bunch of stained glass windows. The Trappist Bar by Hotel de Ville has amazing mussels. We also liked Allo Sushi, and drinks at Stolly's bar. We had lunches and breakfasts at little cafes along the way - all of which were pretty good. We had dinner at Bofinger one night, and the food was awesome - the lobster bisque was to die for. Funny story...trying to order a Starbucks latte 'breve' (with cream) and having to break the language barrier in order to do so. Other funny moments...slipping and sliding down the Rue de Rivoli after we enjoyed the Louvre...bad snow that day and the streets turned into sheets of ice and slush...made for an interesting walk. Three reasons why this is a good place to visit - location, centrally located to everything (Supermarchet, laundry, Metro). Great sights and sounds...feels like 'Paris'. Lastly, a cute, nice, comfortable place to stay. Walking around from this location to other places was easy, and the proximity to the nearest Metro made getting around to the sites further out from the Rue de Rivoli easy and convenient. |
