Vacation in Paris - Reviews - Paris

by CASLER,

We had a great book called "An Hour from Paris". We took trains into the countryside to visit Crecy la Chappelle, Conflans, and Chantilly.
It was still late autumn in the countryside and beautiful. (We returned to the city a week later using an apartment, and saw the museums and walked the city itself) The Monet exhibit at the Grand Palais is spectacular, but probably close to being sold out.
Brasserie Flo, great traditional Paris institution.
Brasserie d'Isle St. Loius, just off the bridge from Isle de la Cite. Great food from Alsace; very convenient location.Cave de la Bourgogne, foot of Rue Moufftard. Great food, reasonable prices, great atmosphere.
Restaurant at 83 Rue Cardinal Lamoine, near Place de la Contrescarpe. specializing in couscous.
La Coupole, great lamb curry.

This was a family reunion vacation in Paris and we had a wonderful time enjoying the city with our kids, their friends, and our own old friends.
the world for just wandering, in awe.
The city's museums and historical attractions are probably tops in the world.
We learned a lot about getting out of the city to visit the countryside. I highly recommend the book "An Hour From Paris."
