We know quite well Paris, so we avoided the most famous locations you generally visit while in Paris for the 1st time. One place to go if you like the flea market in St Ouen in Paris (metro Porte de Clignancourt) for furnitures of different style and centuries. open Saturday, Sunday and Monday. We also like the quartier du Marais and la place des Vosges.
Difficult to give advises, it's a matter of personal taste. Usually you always eat very well in Paris, food being part of the "national culture", it's an institution in the institution But of course don't miss a typical brasserie and try some "specialities" such as les oreilles de cochon - pig ears - if you like pork and to live dangerously
The purchase of a chair (Barcelona chair from Mies Van de Hohe for the connaisseur) in les puces de St Ouen in Paris to fistly move by car to the Palais des Expositions in Villepinte where we get completely lost (it's a city in the city !), then by bus (full of people going to the exhibition !) and then in the van of a friend who was there for the exhibition of furnitures. At least when we were tired (it took us nearly 3 hours), we had a chair available to sit down ! Our magnificient chair is supposed to arrive today in Montreux, yesssss.
You always have something to discover in the beautiful city of Paris. For the entertainment such as theatres, for the monuments, for the lights, and of course for shopping (it's very girly but impossible to resist ! - in that case don't go with your husband but don't forget his credit card !). Cheers
