We visitied the Cluny museum and the Trocadero Musee Cité de l'Architecture et du Patrimoine on Saturday and the Louvre on Sunday,which were all rather wonderful (we came especially for the exhibitions in Paris in those museums; it was a work trip), but we also enjoyed wondering around Paris on two lovely spring days (if a bit cold!). Belleville, where the bed and breakfast was, was a pleasant suprise as well.

The Thai restaurant at the end of the Rue du Moulin Joly, which our host recommended on Friday evening, combined good food with a bustling atmosphere and a great mix of locals and tourists. On Saturday we had a good old fashioned French brasserie meal at the Cafe du Rue Commerce, which was great and exactly what we needed. Steak tartare and frites, yummy!

When we got back to the B&B on Saturday evening there was a party in the flat next door with loud music and some out of tune singing. My boyfriend and I betted on whether it was a karaoke machine or a proper band that was playing. The next morning our host could settle the score for us, it had been a band, because he had been at the party. He told us the band players were teenagers, but all the guests at the party had been middle aged!

Paris is always a treat, especially in the spring time. We enjoyed the fabulous tapestries at the Cluny museum and its other treasures. The Musee Cité de l'Architecture et du Patrimoine has the most amazing views of the Eiffel tower and is a must for anyone interested in architecture. We only spend a day in the Louvre Museum, a temporary exhibition in the morning and the permanent collection in the afternoon, but we could of course have spent a week there and not seen everything. We went for the museums and exhibitions and were definitely not disappointed.
