I had been to Paris before, so it was nice to go back and see all the sights and places again and to "remember" them so well. In particular, I enjoyed having Rue de Saint-Michel as sort of a "base" point for a central location; they have wonderful cafes, restaurants and a nice little square there. You can find anything you need/want in this location, and it's close to all the big sights you'd want to visit in central Paris.

Definitely at our bed and breakfast in Paris! The breakfast each morning was so healthy--just the right amount to get us started on our day's excursions. We had a good, cheap pizza at an Italian pizza place which was located in a little offshoot street from Saint-Michel. We didn't eat out too much--just a lot of crepes, which of course were found everywhere you looked.
Oh, the rain and wind were horrible. But, as our hostess said, Paris is always rainy in the spring. Nevertheless, we made it worth our while. At first I was determined to "suck it up" and walk in the rain the whole time, and consequently got soaked to the bone the first full day. Not very attractive to have raccoon eyes from non-waterproof mascara... The second day, I succumbed to buying a cheap umbrella. Good decision.

Paris, contrary to many opinions, is a beautiful, clean city in my point of view. Like every other city on earth, you will have your "dirty" and "unsafe" parts of town--but you need to be a traveler, not just a tourist. Use your judgment and sense correctly, and Paris will never let you down. The city continues to have a comforting aura about it, making any amount of time there well worth it.
