Charming flat in Paris.
Petrelle (ue Petrelle). A very quirky restaurant which feels like you are in someone's home, with its antiques and murals scattered around and wonderful smells coming from the kitchen. Exquisite food - the tables were strewn with homemade meringues - which you can munch on whilst you wait for your food. Very chic, relaxed clientele - and there is even a cat wandering around to make you feel more at home! The best food I've ever had in Paris.
It was wonderful to see and hear a lady singing Edith Piaf songs at a Metro station. She was blind, and sat humbly with her mic and PA system - but her beautiful voice was not humble - it was exquisite and hit every note perfectly. There is so much life on the Metro - I've seen tonnes of good performers do their thing to raise a few centimes and the metro in itself is very beautiful.
Through the B&B Paris network we found a lovely place.
Paris is a cultural, artistic and fashionable Utopia. There is something for everyone - you can bustle about or find yourself strolling along the Seine, surrounded by people - but still having a sense of tranquility. The food is often very good. Paris is a feast for the eyes as well as the stomach, with its elegant architecture and coolly chic citoyens. There is so much to discover - one trip is never enough.
