There’s something new on offer in Paris: The City of Cinema, also known as Hollywood on the Seine has opened. After 12 years of work and a lot of investment the French capital now has its own cinema institution. The new center of French cinema was strongly endorsed by director Luc Besson who is seeing his dreams come true inside the buildings that make up the City of Cinema complex. The entire area devoted to cinema is located in Saint-Denis, in Northern Paris. It previously housed a factory and was completely renovated in an enormous project which includes 8,000 square meters for the Louis Lumière national film school. There’s an additional 10,000 square meters of theater space, 11,000 square meters for production and 23,000 square meters of office space. There’s also a library and projection area. |
