A Sunday in Paris

Have you booked your weekend to Paris but still not organised how to spend the last few hours before you are homebound? Don't worry, here are a few suggestions on what to do in Paris on a Sunday morning. Every Sunday from 9am to 1.30pm, the area of Boulevard Raspail, between the rue Cherche-Midi and Rue de Rennes, has an air filled with sautéing onions. It is the famous onion galette, which is made with chopped onions, potatoes and cheese. These goodies can be found at the organic market, "Marché Biologique Raspail" and has been the gem of the area for 26 years. Enjoy a wonderful stroll amongst the ten-or-so stands and feast your eyes on all of the natural produce on offer: soft white buns with dried fruit, salad with goat's cheese on croutons, fresh vegetables and lettuce, honey, marmalades and other treats.

The Luxembourg Gardens are not the only place in which you can enjoy tasty market products. Les Berges, a 1.5km long pathway that follows the Seine, was inaugurated in 2013. Start from the entrance of Pont de l'Alma to the west side and walk amongst the rotating art on display here, the climbing walls and the area dedicated to hopscotch and racket ball. Once you arrive to the oriental part, around the Orsay museum, climb the wooden steps to get a look at the view of the boats along the river.

Seen as at St. Germain you can find at least a dozen famous chocolatiers, take advantage of the offers of the area by hopping over to Pierre Cluizel Un Dimanche à Paris, a chocolate shop and tea room, restaurant and lounge. The Nicolas Bacheyere bakery, with its chocolate served hot in the traditional Limoges porcelain will give your Parisian afternoon a touch of style. What better way to end your weekend in Paris?
