A weekend visit to the museums and monuments of Paris

Paris boasts one of the greatest artistic and cultural heritages in the world, with magnificent monuments and museums that should not to be missed. It's important to remember that up to 11 totally free museums in Paris with permanent collections that can be visited during a weekend in Paris

The MAM (Museum of Modern Art) specialises in non-figurative art and proposes a vast collection of works from different artistic movements including cubism, post-cubism, surrealism and new Realism.

Three museums are entirely dedicated to great French artists: Maison Victor Hugo,  Maison Balzac and Bourdelle Maison. For lovers of Chinese art and archeology it is possible to visit the Cemuschi museum; and if you are interested in 17th century art then the Cognac-Jay is waiting for you.

The Jean Moulin museum and the Hauteclocque del Maresciallo Leclerc Memorial trace the story of the Resistance and Liberation of Paris. Also totally free are the Museum of Romantic Life, the Petit Palais (Beaux Arts Museum), National Museum and Zadkine di Jean-Jacques Henner Museum.
