The Stade de France is at Saint-Denis, an area just outside of Paris, situated to the north of the capital, just above the 8th arrondissement, in the Montmartre area. Inaugurated in 1998, just a few months before the football world cup, Saint-Denis held the final and is currently hosting the French national team’s, champions league and rugby matches not to mention lower key athletic games and music events. Thanks to Paris’ public transport system, the Stade de France is easy to get to even if it is outside of the city itself. It is easy to get to the Parc des Princes, the Paris Saint-Germain stadium, the Paris team’s ground at the 16th arrondissement, close to the Roland Garros stadium, where the tennis nationals are held. The current look of the Parc des Princes is that of the third reconstruction of the building in 1972, first inaugurated in 1897 and following that in 1932 after reconstruction works. The Parc des Princes was not built for low key athletic events, infact, there is no running track like at Saint-Denis, Paris Saint-Germain football team and the Paris teams’ rugby matches are played here.
