![]() Imagine being in Paris this Christmas. The snow, which is likely to make an appearance, the lights that illuminate the river banks, the boulevards and the streets. All of this while listening to the music of some street artist. The atmosphere in Paris is always magical but at Christmas it's even more special and can be experienced only during the most important Christian holiday of the year. Even though it's a big city traditions still survive in Paris. If you've decided to spend Christmas in Paris in one of our accommodations you'll be able to take part in the Christmas mass at Notre Dame cathedral. Notre Dame cathedral rises on the Ile de la Cité island in the middle of the Seine from where the city originally developed. In the heart of Paris you'll discover the majestic brilliance of this gothic building among spires and gargoyles which Victor Hugo immortalized in the character of Quasimodo, the deformed bell ringer in the novel “Notre-Dame of Paris”. Listening to the Christmas Mass in Paris within the Notre-Dame cathedral will surely be an experience you will never forget. The Midnight Mass will start at 11pm and at midnight Emmanuel, the enormous bell of Notre Dame and the second biggest in all of France, will ring out to announce the birth of Christ. After the Vigil at Notre Dame you can continue with the Christmas Mass and go to sleep in Paris knowing that you spent a special evening. |
