Craving crêpes and galettes? Guide to the crêperies of Paris |
![]() Paris is a great occasion for anyone who likes food. There are many delicacies that can be sampled in the city of light. Today we will talk about crêpes and galettes, which are not typically Parisian but come from Brittany. In any case for those not in the know galettes are like darker crepes which are crunchier and made with a different grain and have salty toppings. The ones with bacon, potatoes and melted cheese are very good but there are many other variations also worth trying. In Paris it is very difficult not to find a creperie: they are everywhere. Not all of them are good however. If you have decided to stay in a Hostels in Paris selected from our website you can follow our guide to creperies in Paris. In the 13th arrondissement a delicious creperie is “Terroir” situated at number 11 Boulevard Arago near the Les Gobelins subway station on the 7 line of the metro. There is an ample range of galettes and sweet crepes as well as quality cider from Brittany served by very pleasant staff. If on the other hand if you've been visiting the Sacré Coeur Basilica and the stairs have tested your reserves of energy we recommend a stop at 'Tirebouchon', near Place du Tertre on the hill of Montmartre, where prices are good and the typical Parisian atmosphere is a great place to taste the wonderful galettes and crêpes. If you happen to be in the St. Germain area we suggest 'Vin Divin' at 33 rue Saint-André-des-Arts where you'll be able to taste all sorts of flavors. |
