The Bercy Arena is an institution that was founded in 1984, the year in which the Bercy sporting arena of Paris was inaugurated to host the indoor tennis Masters, which generally takes place around the end of October to the beginning of November. The Bercy Arena is also home to an athletic track and recently hosted the European artistic gymnastics tournament, athletics and basketball. Planned by the Eiffage group that have been specialising in civil engineering in France for almost two centuries - you need only understand that the Eiffel Tower was made by the same construction group. The Bercy Arena is also an indoor arena that hosts the most important concerts of Paris. It holds up to 17000 people, ideal for indoor concerts. It is situated on the 12th arrondissement, near to the Gare de Lyon, one of the most important stations in Paris, and close to the 3 lines of Metro: 1, 6 and 14. The next event shall be the Cirque du Soleil from 2nd to 7th December and then to follow is set to be closed for restructuring for about a year. It will reopen in 2015 for the U2 Tour in Paris. |
