Race to Paris for the 40th Marathon
The annualParis Marathon will be held just after Easter when the first signs of spring are upon us. Marathoners, tourists, sports fans and the curious will meet on 3rd April at the Champs Elysées to be a part of one of the most important sporting events of Paris: the starting line is at the Arc de Triomphe and the 42km long race passes by the well known attractions of the city. From Place de la Concorde heading in the direction of the Louvre, then Place de la Bastille and Bois de Vincennes, the public park situated to the south-east of Paris. From here the route heads to the centre passing by Notre-Dame and arriving at the Eiffel Tower.

The marathon will be preceded by the “Salon du Running” at the Porte de Versailles fair, an appointment that unites visitors and runners alike that will be involved in the Paris Marathon.
Every year the Paris Marathon attracts many athletes from all over the world and the number of visitors increases year after year. Moreover, a children’s marathon for little athletes has been scheduled for 2nd April, the day before the main event. There will be a 2.2km course for ages between 8 and 10 and these kids can run on their own, while children between 5 and 7 years of age can run on the 1.2km course while accompanied by parents. Close the the starting line at the Champs de Mars, children will meet at the sporting village where they can have their faces painted and enjoy music groups. The prize? A breakfast fit for a king and a beautiful medal.
