Springtime in Paris…a great time to visit!

If you haven’t spent Spring in Paris you haven’t experienced the best of the city. Sure December and July are nice but only April is truly worth singing about and Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald knew it. Spring and April in particular is when the city comes back to life. Birds return from their winter migration, the trees in the parks begin to blossom and the blue skies above Montmartre and the Eiffel Tower seem a little bluer than any other time of the year. 

 

Even if you aren’t a hopeless romantic or enjoy following in Ernest Hemingway’s footsteps you’ll appreciate the transformation the city undergoes every spring. Parisians who just weeks before seemed grumpy and ready to strike are now positively cheerful. Ask for directions and it’ll come with a smile, at outdoor cafes waiters will happily listen to your distorted French and best of all the entrances to the Picasso Museum, Louvre, and Beaubourg have yet to be overrun by the hordes of tourists that invade the city in June and the summer months.

 

Spring is definitely the time to visit and a B&B in the Marais or B&B in the Saint-Germain-des-Pres is definitely the place to stay. Not only will you wake up to the smell of fresh brewed coffee but you’ll get the personal treatment that a hotel simply cannot deliver. Your host is local and most of all they care. Over breakfast you’ll get plenty of advice on where to go and what to see. And since it’s springtime that means more incredible events than usual.
