Andrée Putnam, one of the most famous interior designers in the world, noted for having decorated the interior of the Concorde, accessories for Prisunic, the VIP area at the Stade de France stadium, Jack Lang’s desk, and the famous lacquered piano. Born in Paris in 1925 Andrèe began her professional career working for the design magazines L’Oeil and Les Cahiers de Elle. Her interest in contemporary art was released in her collaboration with the design and style department of the famous Prisunic store. With them she created a range of original items for the home. The Paris exhibition dedicated to her revisits her work through internal spaces and the display of many of her creations.
In 1997 she founded the company that carries her name. In the exaltation of light and space the designer has created objects and environments that are simple, sober, essential and timeless. Her daughter Olivia Putnam, who is the curator of the retrospective, wanted to provide a vision that was accessible to the large public and respected the work of her mother amabassador of French style throughout the world.
