If you'll be in Paris for spending your holiday during the grape harvest festival you can't miss the beautiful event that will take place in the Montmatre district! From the 10th till the 15th of October, in fact, there will be wine, cheese and chocolate tastes, all making part of a real "taste journey" as well as conferences, book presentations, vineyard tours for children, live music and the famous "bal des Non-mariés" a dance of unmarried couples who see themselves as eternal lovers. The festival lasts five days and finishes with fireworks worthy of note. Everything is organized by pleasure to get together and share happiness. At the base of the idea there is the concept that wine and food are vehicles of social union. The Festival of the grape harvest of Montmartre has been established in order to unite the citizens of the area and also to increase a cross cultural dialogue. For this reason, food and wine traditions are presented in an ironic way. Spend a romantic weekend in Paris, reserve a romantic B&B Paris during the Festival of the grapes harvest !

Paris, the city of love and art, is as magical as spring is enjoying its scents and colours, why not spend the Easter holidays in Paris? The Parisian traditions associated with this celebration have a strong religious connotation; do not miss the Easter Sunday Mass in the fabulous cathedral of Notre-Dame . One of the oldest traditions in Paris is linked to a story: the bells, from Friday to Easter Sunday, does not sound like a mark of respect for the death of Jesus, the children are told that they have flown away to Rome. When on Easter Sunday return to play it is said to have returned and have brought the chocolate eggs. Chocolate is one of the main attractions in Paris during Easter. For music lovers, there are many concerts of Gregorian chants in all churches of the city. A useful ingredient to enrich the Easter holiday is surely to pay a visit to the museums and do some shopping in the famous Parisian streets! Book a last minute Paris, decide to spend Easter in the most beautiful and romantic cities in the world! The winter sales in Paris are about to begin and lots of people, mostly women ,have already thought to organize at least a weekend in Paris to enjoy shopping, a very cheap one…cheaper than ever at this time! Until Christmas, lots of people, mostly women, have avoided to buy shoes, clothing and bags, reserving for them the right to try to do good deals with the winter sales. In Paris the most hardened shopaholic but wise in spending money will fulfil their wishes: the most luxurious boutiques to shop seemingly anonymous, the rich collection of news will be put on sale in Paris from 11 January 2012. This is an important date to be able to be there in the early days of sales, when there is still a range of sizes, colours and patterns. To dedicate a large part of the budget to the shopping in Paris, you should choose to fly low cost. We suggest leaving only with a handbag luggage and return back with a trolley bought there and fitted with all of your new purchases made during the Parisian winter sales! Also find an accommodation in central Paris is very important to save money, so booking a bed and breakfast in Paris with bbparis.com, near the Galeries Lafayette or near the Champs-Elysees (two landmarks shopping in Paris) will be the best you can do to spend all weekend looking for whatever you wish to buy!

A free festival of cult films is held on the large lawn of Villete park. To stay in the vicinity we suggest lastminute Paris, a selection of discounted accommodations. The theme of this year’s festival is ‘turning twenty’. Many of the great filmmakers have wanted to depict this age, the most beautiful of all, but also the most tortuous and difficult. From golden youth to the spoils of youth, to revolutionaries, all the way to destructive rage, the festival explores different styles of cinema through this poignant theme.
From classics like the Graduate and Clockwork Orange, to lesser known films such as Cry Baby (John Waters) and Without Roof or Law (Agnes Varda). The festival is an opportunity to reflect on youth; rest in one of the accommodations selected by lastminute Paris, B&Bs or independent studios that combine quality and low cost. In the outdoor cinema you’ll be in the company of high caliber directors like François Truffaut, Jean-Luc Godard, Ken Loach, Maurice Pialat, Leos Carax, Abdellatif Kechiche, Cristian Mungiu, Woody Allen, Sofia Coppola, and Jim Jarmusch.
Each one in their own way reflects on the fact that not only is twenty a beautiful age of recklessness but also an age that one harks back to for the rest of one’s life. The godmother of the festival is the actress Sandrine Bonnaire. Entrance is free and lounge chairs can be rented for 7 euros. Address: Parc de la Villette 211, avenue Jean Jaurès - 19° arr. Paris. Nuit Blanche (in French) or literally White Night or All Nighter is an annual all-night cultural festival. The festival lasts from sundown until sunrise - from 7pm to 7am - on the first Saturday and Sunday in October.
During the Nuit Blanche, museums, private and public art galleries offer free admission to all, with the downtown core of a city itself (like city's train stations and in some amazing churches too..) being turned into a art gallery, providing space for art installations, performances (music, film, dance, performance art). Parisians can enjoy hundreds of artistic events, especially made to be seen at night. Search a room in a B&B in Paris to partecipate in the Nuit Blanche!
First launched in 2002 under mayor Bertrand Delanoë, Paris Nuit Blanche has become a hotly-anticipated annual celebration of all things art and culture in the city of light. Attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors each year, White Night sees countless Paris galleries, museums, city halls, and even swimming pools open their doors all night to visitors-- with free entry.
My personal experience tells me to dedicate this visit to monuments as: National Assembly, the Old Royal Palace (La Conciergerie), Palais de l’Elysée the official residence of the President, the first town Hall. These are monuments not open to the public during the rest of the year. There is a good news and a bad one, I always start with the bad one: lines are very long so be prepared to eat a sandwich standing outside; you can take pictures inside the buildings.
This year, it has also been confirmed that the metro will be open until 2am for the night, with the line 14 open all night.
The major events planned this year : Shaad Ali at the Gare de Lyon Gi Dexin at Saint Sulpice Pierrick Sorin at Gare de l'Est Javier Tellez at the Eglise Saint-Eustache Jeremy Blake at the Eglise Saint-Paul Tony Oursler at Gare du Nord Patti Smith at the Eglise Saint-Germain.
Patty Smith will be back in Paris after her recent great exhibition with a musical performance based on texts by Saint Francis of Assisi.
Saint Lazare will also be used during the night, with british duo Semiconductor and electrically-assisted tricycles will be available to get between the stations! The freshly-restored Tour Saint Jacques, a 63m Gothic edifice at Chatelet, will be illuminated by Chinese artist Gu Dexin. And the Tour Montparnasse will be the subject of a son et lumière by Japanese artist Ryoji Ikeda. Also, a bamboo stage will be erected in front of the Comédie Française at Palais Royal, where a troupe of opera singers from Guangzhou will be accompanied by projections by Hong Kong film-maker Johnnie To.
There are a few more details (in French only unfortunately) on the offcial dossier de presse Nuit Blanche by Paris’ Municipality wirìth maps, events and list of artists.
2binparis.com is a network made by almost 100 B&B in Paris : book a room and enjoy this event!
